The on-board spa, Cloud 9 offers an array of amazing spa treatments and salon services, from hot stone massages to a dip in the Thalassotherapy pool, pedicures to manicures. You can also buy passes to the spa’s thermal suite, so you can access the steam room, pool and other spaces within the spa without actually booking a treatment. Among Carnival Dream’s 1,823 staterooms and suites, you’ll find 44 junior suites, ocean suites and spa suites, along with 12 grand suites. Carnival Dream is the first of the Dream-class ships, which also include Carnival Magic and Carnival Breeze. When floated out in 2008, the ship was the largest Carnival cruise ship ever built, as well as the largest ship ever built by the Fincantieri shipyard in Italy.

If you like staying active during your vacation, but you’re not a fan of going to the gym, you’ll still find plenty of ways to work up a sweat during a Carnival Dream cruise. Where Carnival Dream — and most Carnival ships in general — really shines, though, is when it comes to activities. There’s always something to do on a Carnival Dream cruise, no matter if you want thrills, a party atmosphere, things to do with the kiddos or to just kick back and relax. Also during the 2021 upgrade, the cruise line removed the ship’s conference room and added a non-smoking casino and bar. The ship’s most recent refurbishment took place in 2021, when, during the dry dock process, the cruise line gave the ship a new red, white and blue livery.

The more you book with the cruise line, the better your deals will be. Cruisers looking to spend less money onboard will appreciate the large number of surcharge-free dining venues during the day, while those willing to splurge will enjoy the variety of specialty dining venues. When booking a Dream-class ship, cruisers should be careful that they choose one with a ropes course (Magic or Breeze) or Thrill Theater (Breeze) if those things are important to them. Carnival Breeze also has a 4D cinema Thrill Theater, which the other Dream-class ships do not.

When you’re ready to soak up the sun, find a lounge chair at the adults-only pool deck or splash down on one of the slides at WaterWorks. However, I often consider more than the total cost before booking a cruise. I look at the ports of call, the space-to-guest ratio, the amenities and onboard activities, and the launch point.

The ship offers a wide range of entertainment options, including mini-golf, a jogging track, kids clubs, and adult-centric entertainment. Carnival Sunrise  (formerly Carnival Triumph) features an exciting splash zone for kids and a piano bar where adults can sing along to their favorite songs all night. The ship sails on two to five-night and six to nine-night cruises from Miami, Florida, to the Bahamas. Carnival Luminosa (formerly the Costa Luminosa) is for you if you want to sail to destinations like Alaska and Australia. It also offers occasional itineraries through scenic transpacific spots like Fiji, Tahiti, Hawaii, and Japan.
